Saratov Metropolitan Longin apologized for violating a mask mode, going shopping at the local market. It is reported by Teleram-channel “Rise” with reference to sources in the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia (MVD).

According to reports, police stopped the Metropolitan on Sennoy market in Saratov a few days ago, when he was buying fruit, not keeping a mask mode. The interior Ministry reported that the priest did not delay and limited explanatory conversation.

In his post on Facebook the priest expressed his gratitude to all the compassionate people who supported him because of the incident, but said that he is guilty. “For this reason I receive an expression of sympathy from many friends and acquaintances, for which they are deeply grateful,” wrote Metropolitan Longin. “I want, however, to say that in this situation I fully blame that violated the mask mode, and I apologise to all whom it may bother”, he added.

Metropolitan did not mention the reason why he was in a public place without essential protection.

Earlier it was reported about a Russian woman who refused to let in the entrance of the house a woman with children, because they were without personal protective equipment. She chased the neighbor screaming at her children and mate.

In some regions of Russia put a mask mode. It provides for the compulsory wearing of medical masks and gloves in public transport, shops and taxis.
