The vaccine for coronavirus is not likely to become universal, for each group of the population, it may be different. Features of product development in the broadcast channel “Russia 24” was opened by the Deputy Director on scientific work of Institute of epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Aleksandr Gorelov.
According to him, the vaccine should be safe not only for healthy able-bodied population but also for children of different age, pregnant women, pensioners. “Therefore, it does not mean that there will be one universal vaccine,” said epidemiologist, adding that a few of the under development drugs will reach serial production in Russia.
He suggested that the vaccination will begin with the most vulnerable populations and citizens with chronic diseases.
Clinical trials of three promising domestic vaccines against the virus SARS-CoV-2 will begin on June 29. Already are preparing for mass production of the product. In case of successful testing on volunteers vaccinating the Russians will happen in the fall and take six to nine months.
