Maxim Reshetnikova: page Ministry of economic development of Russia on Facebook
Russian authorities called the price of all measures to support the economy in crisis, caused by a coronavirus. According to the head of Ministry of economic development Maxim Reshetnikov, the cost of three packages of measures within the framework of anti-crisis program has already exceeded 3 trillion rubles. He stated in an interview that showed in the all-Russian online action “Want to work”. The interview appeared on YouTube.
Reshetnikov urged not to measure the assistance provided by government to citizens and business, as a percentage of GDP. “Here, as usual, not only the magnitude [of support], but also how to use [the funds]. It is very important that the money really reaches those who need it all,” he said. The Minister has asked not to compare Russia with other countries. He reminded that Russia, in contrast to, say, the US is not the Issuer of the world reserve currency.
The Minister of economic development stated that the government is not waiting for the rebound and quick recovery after removal of introduced because of the coronavirus restrictions. He explained that the restrictions will be removed gradually. In addition, after their abolition will come into effect “the new rules of operation, obviously.” If all anti-crisis measures will be enforced, the economy of Russia by the end of 2021 can recover to the level of the first quarter of 2019, said Reshetnikov. By the end of 2020 GDP is expected to fall 5 percent, said the Ministry.
An earlier edition of the Bell calculated that all three packages of anti-crisis measures will cost 3.1 trillion roubles, or 2.6 percent of GDP. However, only 40 percent of the funds go to the “real” money. Otherwise we are talking about loans, deferred loans and taxes and the exemption from payments to the budget individuals and companies.
