Russian banks reduced issuing mortgage loans in half in April of this year. This was reported in National Bureau of credit histories (nbki), reports RIA Novosti.
According to the Bureau, for the period was issued on 49.3 percent of loans less than in March of this year. Compared to April, 2019 the index decreased by 35.3 per cent. It is noted that most reduced the number of borrowers of good credit quality, which are in crisis reduce their activity. “It is those borrowers for whom banks delegate the maximum amount of loans,” — added there.
In a number of regions, lending has decreased even more. For example, in the Rostov region the number of new mortgage loans in April fell by 62.6%, in Krasnodar territory — on the 61.8%, in Moscow — 61.3 percent. Also, large cuts visible in the Moscow region (59.2 percent) and St. Petersburg (59 per cent).
The reason for the decline, analysts called taken because of the coronavirus quarantine measures and the economic situation in the country. In particular, serious restrictions were imposed in most active on loans regions. They have led to a decrease in the average amount of mortgages in Russia: it decreased by eight percent.
