While there is no evidence that marijuana use may reduce the risk of infection by coronavirus. This myth is refuted by the chief psychiatrist of the Ministry of health Yevgeny Bryun, reports “Interfax”.

According to him, serious research on this topic was conducted. “There is a theoretical assumption, but accept them we have no right,” said the doctor.

He compared the effectiveness of cannabis with alcohol and garlic, which are also mistakenly considered to be useful in dealing with new virus.

Brune added that the issue of legalization of marijuana is not only legal, but also political, as Russia is experiencing certain pressure on the subject. The authorities strictly adhere to the position that any use of cannabis in the country, including for medicinal purposes, impossible.
