The CEO of UC Rusal Evgeny Nikitin appealed to the Russian government with a proposal to include the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk and Irkutsk in the gasification program of Gazprom. The idea spelled out in his letter to the Vice-Premier of Victoria Abramchenko, reports owned by Grigory Berezkin the RBC.
According to Nikitin, without such measures to solve the environmental problems of these large industrial centers is impossible. The Bratsk and Krasnoyarsk are included in the Federal project “Pure air”, in which by 2024 harmful emissions should fall by 22 percent.
The representative of “Gazprom” said that in 2020 the funds for gasification of these regions are not highlighted, and the program on 2021-2025 still in development. The Governor of Krasnoyarsk region Alexander USS in the end of last year noted that over the next three years to talk about the gasification of the region. In addition, the region is not able to pay for the construction of the road, and needs help of Gazprom or the Federal government.
In recent years, Gazprom has a monopoly on exports of pipeline gas, was involved in three major projects — a gas pipeline “Nord stream-2”, “Turkish stream and Power of Siberia”. Two have been completed, although the supply has not yet reached capacity, and the construction of “Nord stream-2” is stopped because of U.S. sanctions.
On the eve of the U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell confirmed that Washington will apply new restrictive measures if Russia decides to enter the route into operation.
