In the British County of North Yorkshire was found dead pike record size. This publication reports the Daily Mail.
The fish died of natural causes during the period when the UK was introduced quarantine measures that restrict, among other things, and fishing. The pike weighed 24 kilograms and its length was about 120 centimeters. Estimated fish age — 11 years old.
The largest pike caught in the UK weighed 21.2 kg, i.e., almost three pounds less. The record was set in 1992 in Wales. The world record pike is considered a weight of 26.7 kilograms, which in 2019 have caught the Czech angler Lukas Matejka (Lukas Matejka).
The fish was discovered by the owner of the private fishing reserve Brian Moreland (Brian Morland) during a walk with the dog. Pike lay on the shore of the pond. Moreland suggests that she died after spawning.
Earlier it was reported about a fisherman from the U.S. state of Minnesota, who caught a pike the size of a man. The local Department of natural resources has registered the record and admitted caught a pike longest in the history of fishing in the state.
