The Russian government intends to accelerate the allocation of funding for the program of resettlement of citizens from emergency housing. This was stated by the supervising construction branch Vice-Premier Marat Khusnullin, reports “Interfax”.
The official noted that the government needed a clear plan from the regions to build new houses for the population.
Khusnullin, which entered the government in January this year, earlier in the spring proposed to accelerate the pace of implementation of the program of resettlement of citizens from emergency housing. He noted at the meeting with President Vladimir Putin that several regions confirmed their willingness to do that with the existing funding.
Work on resettlement of citizens from emergency housing undertaken in 2007, included in the national project “Housing and the urban environment”. It is planned, in particular, to increase the resettlement of dilapidated housing to 9.54 million square metres and relocate 530,9 thousands of citizens from unfit housing. The program is calculated till 2024.
