In Russia newborns before discharge from the hospital will test for COVID-19. Before discharge, the child must be two negative test for coronavirus. This is stated in the second version of the recommendations of the Ministry of health to provide health care for pregnant women, new mothers and newborns with COVID-19.
“The child must have two consecutive negative test for SARS-CoV-2 of the test environments, taken with an interval of 24 hours, and discharged in conditions where no infected/suspected infection COVID-19 people in his entourage. You must also make sure that the child does not emit SARS-CoV-2 with a chair” — stated in the recommendations. The temperature of the child should be in the normal range three days before discharge.
In addition, it is noted that the baby can go home from the hospital only provided favourable epidemiological situation in the place of his residence.
“The child’s parents before discharge should receive counselling on features (if any) of care of their child, as well as the thoroughness and regularity of hygienic measures wash hands”, — stated in the text of the document.
According to the health Ministry, in Russia the coronavirus was diagnosed in two thousand pregnant women, 800 of them located in Moscow.
