The rebellion in the United States because of the death of a black citizen George W. Floyd after a rough arrest in Minneapolis (Minnesota) led to the death and spread further — protests also began in Los Angeles. This is reported by CBS Los Angeles, and RIA Novosti.
It is reported that on the second day of protests in Minneapolis during the shooting killed another man. It is known that the fire was opened by the owner of the pawn shop because of the aggressive behaviour of protesters who began to attack and loot shops. The wounded died in hospital, police arrested the suspect.
It is noted that in downtown Minneapolis seen several fires completely burned down several shops.
In addition, crowds of supporters in support of the Black Lives Matter movement (“black Lives matter”), acting against the violence against black people, also gathered in Los Angeles. The protest, which began peacefully, turned violent after some people smashed the Windows of two patrol cars and jumped on them. After that, there have been serious clashes with the police, the protesters went to the police Department of the city. There was also seen a group of people burning a US flag.
27 may it was reported that in Minneapolis, the revolt began after the death of a black man who has suffered an arrest with force.
The man was arrested on may 25 near a grocery store after he allegedly paid there’s a fake cheque. The police dragged him out of the car and laid on the pavement, one of them roughly crushed citizen with his knee, and he does not resist and began to complain that he can’t breathe. He was taken to hospital where he died shortly thereafter.
Later it turned out that the man was suffering from some health problems. The videos of the arrest, which was widely spread in social networks, citizens identified the deceased — he was a local 46-year-old security guard George Floyd. Friends of Floyd assured that he was a good citizen and a responsible employee.
The FBI declared the beginning of investigation of circumstances of death of Floyd, the Agency will verify the incident for violation of civil rights. The four officers involved in the arrest of a man, was fired. The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey apologized to the townspeople.
