American students across the country will begin to gain more knowledge about the atrocities committed during the Holocaust, after the US President Donald trump will sign a new legislative project. It is reported by Newsweek.
The new law on education, which was approved by the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress in January, must be signed by the head of the White house on Thursday, may 28. Under the bill, over the next five years from the budget will be allocated funds for the development of educational programs related to the Holocaust, the organization of regional working groups to help teachers of middle and high school in the preparation of the new General education program.
Earlier, the anti-defamation League (ADL) published a report according to which last year in the US there were a record number of anti-Semitic incidents. The report says that in 2019, the country registered a total of 2107 of such cases, including vandalism, harassment and assault. The figure was 12 percent higher than in 2018.
