Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, academician Anatol Zagorodnii said that the peak of infection by the coronavirus in the country passed. It is reported Корреспондент.net.
Zagorodnii said that the forecast, published on March 13, justified. The peak incidence occurred in the first week of may. “We can see that as the peak times now have been overcome, although the slope is quite gentle, but still we go on reducing the number of cases every day,” — said the academician.
He added that, according to forecasts, if the quarantine in Ukraine was introduced just one week later, the incidence would have been higher by 3-4 times.
Chief sanitary doctor of the country Viktor Lyashko said that he expects zero statistics infected with the coronavirus in less than a month.
According to the latest data, Ukraine 22382 identified laboratory-confirmed cases COVID-19. Died 669 patients, 8439 recovered.
