Russia has proposed to ban abortion pills

Authorized on the rights of the child in Russia Anna Kuznetsova proposed a ban on the sale abortively medicines in the framework of the work aimed at “protecting the right to life and protection of the child against violence.” It is reported TASS with reference to the report of the Ombudsman for 2019.

The document proposes further measures aimed at restricting the sale of pills for abortion in pharmacies.

In addition, the report refers to the need of measures aimed at changes in the financing of institutions interested in the “preservation of the child, and not the provision of services for the artificial termination of pregnancy”.

Earlier, another proposal to ban abortions in Russia are performed in Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). According to the responsible Secretary of the Patriarchal Commission on family matters, protection of motherhood and childhood Fyodor Lukyanov, at the time of the coronavirus should be a moratorium on the operations of abortion. “We believe that in terms of coronavirus infection of the operation for the production of medical abortion can facilitate the spread of infection COVID-19 among women who commit abortion and their families and among health personnel”, — said the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church.
