Azerbaijan bypassed Russia in terms of gas supplies to Turkey in March 2020. This follows from the report of the Turkish energy regulator EPDK, published on the website .
According to the document, only in March of this year, Azerbaijan supplied 23.5 percent of the total volume of imported gas in Turkey. The share of Russian raw materials accounted for 9.9 percent (389,7 million cubic meters). A year ago it was 33 per cent (1.4 billion cubic meters), which was the highest indicator among all countries, notes owned by Grigory Berezkin the RBC.
Also in the pipeline supply Russia overtook Iran (14.2%), and the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) — Qatar (20 per cent) and Algeria (13.7 percent).
In February it was reported that Turkey began to abandon Russian gas because of rising imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and supplies from Azerbaijan. In 2019 the supply of “Gazprom” in the country decreased by 40 percent compared to 2018.
