Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov called for the revision of the law “On peculiarities of functioning of Ukrainian as the state language”, also known as the law of Ukrainization. He stated this at a briefing on June 1, according to “Strenia”.
Razumkov said the law will be acceptable for all Ukrainians, no matter “where they live and what language they speak”. “If we are talking about such important issues as language issue and cultural issues, return the temporarily occupied territories, it is necessary to take into account the positions of all”, — said the Deputy.
Which provisions of law should be corrected, he said. However, he noted that the introduction of the second official language of the question.
“Nobody talks about second, third, fifth or tenth state language. But when we return to the question of our foreign partners, we respect them. But somehow my colleagues selectively respect the position of different institutions,”

The law “On ensuring the functioning of Ukrainian as the state language” was developed under former President Poroshenko and entered into force in the summer of 2019. According to the document, mova has become mandatory for government bodies, educational institutions, hospitals and service sectors. In March 2020, the incumbent President Vladimir Zelensky has signed the law “About complete General secondary education” that terminates in the country of Russian-speaking school from September 2020.
