The President of Moldova Igor Dodon accused the oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, who is called friend of the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in an attempt to seize power in the Republic. An appeal he published in his Facebook.
Dodon said that left the country an oligarch is still trying to destabilize the political situation. However, according to him, criminal cases against Plahotniuc has considerable advancement under the leadership of the new Prosecutor General of the Republic, and he hopes to attract oligarch to justice.
“It is the fear of the oligarchs and their desire for revenge are explained by media attacks on state institutions and attempts to create ad hoc alliances to overthrow the government and block the activities of state institutions,” wrote Igor Dodon.
Plahotniuc, a businessman and politician, who is considered the richest and most powerful man in Moldova. He was the head of the Democratic party, which in June 2019 has lost the status of ruling. The new government has repeatedly stressed that the clarification of the power from the influence of Plahotniuc is the main achievement of recent years.
