The traditional increase of tariffs for housing and communal services is planned in Russia on July 1, may not take place. The consequences of refusal of indexation was told by the head of the Ministry Vladimir Yakushev during the online conference, “housing after the pandemic — challenges and solutions”, reports “Interfax”.
“Today is the initiative that from 1 July not to increase tariffs for the use of housing services, not to increase the payments,” said the official. According to him, the housing industry faces a serious shortfall in funding, if the plan will be implemented.
Index caps the increase in utility tariffs in the regions of Russia for 2020 were approved in the fall of 2019. According to the document, the cost of housing services in the capital could grow by up to 5 percent in the Moscow region — for 4.1 percent. Provided average growth rates for all regions at 4 per cent.
Earlier it was reported that as of March 2020 the volume of debts for housing and communal services in Russia amounted to 1.03 trillion rubles.
