Many owners of MiG-29 fighters unsuccessfully trying to sell them, purchasing a new aircraft, but did not find the right buyers, says Defense Express.
Note Ukrainian Agency dedicated to Bulgaria plans to sell some of the country’s 14 machines MiG-29, on change which should come the F-16V Fighting Falcon.
“However, the sale of MiG-29 is a daunting task. Germany sold 22 MiG-29 air force of Poland at the end of 2003 at a nominal price of EUR 1.00 each. But Poland then had to spend about 43 million euros for the modernization of aircraft. Hungary is trying to sell the MiG-29 for many years, but to no avail”, — says the publication.
In February, the author of the American magazine The National Interest Sebastian Roblin said that the MiG-29 was the first Soviet light fighter of the fourth generation, and his numerous failures in a variety of conflicts have shaped the plane “a terrible reputation”.
In February 2019, the Director of the Federal service for military-technical cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugaev reported that India has asked Russia to provide “greater reliability” of fourth-generation fighters MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB.
