President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko urged greater use of local fuels in the country, including sawdust. His words leads owned by Grigory Berezkin RBC with reference to the press service of the head of the Republic of Belarus.
“We go and beg for natural gas and oil,” — said Lukashenko, noting that the Republic is dying a lot of wood, peat and sawdust “literally lying under your feet.” “That’s the thing to use, and in the Vitebsk region has learned to do it”, he added. The President of Belarus believes that the experience of using local kinds of fuel must be distributed throughout the country, as “the dying wood [in Belarus] today plenty of it.”
He also commended the authorities of the Vitebsk region for plants for the production of wood pellets — biofuel produced from peat and wood waste — and noted that in the European market there is a great demand for these products. Lukashenko also instructed the government of Belarus to study the issue, that producers do not compete with each other: “let’s Start to compete there with each other, undercut the price, in the negative leave on profitability”.
