Physician and author of “How hurt the doctor: little tricks of big health” Olga Kashubin debunked a popular myth about the daily rate of water consumption. She spoke about it in an interview with radio Sputnik.
According to her, it is not necessary to make a “water torture”, trying to run a better practice, which appeared “out of nowhere”, about the need to drink two liters daily of clean water. The expert is convinced that the body itself will give a signal of thirst and the amount of fluid.
At the same time Kashubina warned that in the heat dehydration can occur very quickly, especially in children. “Often children do not follow the signals of thirst and they just need to offer water frequently to they did not forget. They can quickly be dehydrated and they may not feel heat,” she said. As for adults, they have, according to the therapist, thirst signals are very obvious, and to miss it is impossible.
Earlier, doctors spoke about the rules of nutrition during the summer heat. Russians advised not to eat greasy food, sugary drinks and alcohol and reduce the consumption of meat products. According to them, the summer should eat more vegetables that contain a lot of moisture and vitamin C, as well as berries and fruits. You must also drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
