The Minister of health of Russia Mikhail Murashko said that the heat does not reduce the activity of the coronavirus, writes TASS with reference to his interview with Naila Asker-zade on the TV channel “Russia-24”. As evidence, he cited the foreign experience.
Murashko said that a certain temperature favors the transfer of coronavirus infection. “But there are, say, summer. We communicate with our colleagues, including from countries where temperature has long been kept in high numbers, they say that the activity is not reduced coronavirus infection”, — said the Minister of health.
According to Murashko, the second wave of the spread of coronavirus, which experts predict in the fall, may be associated with re-importation of the virus into the country or climatic factors. He also noted that there remains a risk layering with other coronavirus SARS, the peak incidence usually occurs in the autumn and spring period.
Earlier, the Minister of health said that the situation with coronavirus in Russia as a whole under control.
In early June, Vitaly Zverev, head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and immunology, First Moscow state medical University named after I. M. Sechenov, academician of the RAS, said that the hot summer weather is unlikely to reduce the activity of the coronavirus, and the detrimental effects of ultraviolet radiation have been overestimated, because it applies only to the street surface.
