The Spanish authorities decided on 21 June to open the border crossing which was limited due to the pandemic coronavirus, for tourists from the Schengen zone. The appropriate date Sunday, June 14, declared to El Pais.
According to the publication, the government will remove restrictions for all countries of the European Union, except Portugal, the boundaries of which will only open on 1 July. In addition, it is planned to abolish all quarantine measures for the arriving travelers.
Decisions about opening of borders with other countries will be accepted gradually in July, taking into account the epidemiological situation in a particular state.
Spain is one of the most affected by the pandemic countries. Since the beginning of the spread of the disease was recorded there in excess of 243.6 thousand cases, more than 27.1 thousand infections died. Since mid-March in the Kingdom operates on high alert, restricting the movement of residents throughout the country. The regime will end on June 21.
June 3, the opening of borders for tourists declared Italy. Authorities have canceled a two-week quarantine on arrival in the country for citizens of 26 countries of the European Union, the four countries of the Schengen area, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican city.
