Chief pulmonologist of Ministry of health of Russia Sergey Avdeev stated that many misunderstand the essence of the easing of restrictions due to pandemic coronavirus in the country. His words TASS reports.
Avdeyev said that today it is possible to observe a clear reduction in new cases of coronavirus: “It’s certainly a big step in the direction of reducing the size of the pandemic. Across the country, yet nothing significant happens: we can say that today we have achieved certain successes in the fight against coronavirus infection, and this is due to the removal of restrictions”.
However, according to the doctor, increasing the number of contacts between people after the lifting of certain restrictive measures can lead to new infections. “The most important thing — the very activities that so many doctors say, the CPS and the media. We must keep social distance, wear masks, and indoor and gloves. All this will reduce the risks of a negative scenario,” — said Avdeev.
He stressed that requirements for protection against infection do not lose their relevance. As an example, the doctor brought urban youth, which, according to him, is going to groups, talking to each other at a distance less than a determined social distance, and often neglects the wearing of masks. “Then they [the youth] come home, where they wait for elderly parents, grandparents, for whom the coronavirus infection is the greatest risk. I advise everyone, especially young people, to comply with all the requirements today they are absolutely necessary,” he said.
Earlier it was reported that over the past day in Russia revealed 8835 cases of infection with coronavirus in 84 regions. Recorded 119 deaths, and the number of fully recovered amounted to 5409 people.
