The visit of two Russian Ministers — foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and defense Minister Sergei Shoigu — to Turkey was postponed indefinitely, said in a statement on the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs.
“The work continues. The date of the meeting of Ministers of foreign Affairs and defence of the two countries will be agreed in due course”, — stated in the message.
This is also reported on the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkey. On the preparation visit, it became known on June 13. It was to be held on June 14 in accordance with the agreements between the presidents of two countries Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It was expected that during the visit of Lavrov and Shoigu will meet with their Turkish counterparts Mevlut Cavusoglu and Hulusi Akar and discuss with them “issues of the regional agenda”.
Instead Chavushoglu and Lavrov held a telephone conversation during which they agreed to continue contacts at the level of Deputy Ministers.
