All five Vice-chief editor of the newspaper “Vedomosti” announced his retirement in protest against the appointment of the editor-in-chief Andrew Shmarova. This was reported on the newspaper’s website.

To quit decided Dmitry Simakov, Boris Safronov, Philip Sterkin, Kirill Kharatyan and Alexander Gubsky. It is noted that the latter worked at the newspaper since its Foundation, the rest — about 15 years. “The decision of the Board of Directors consider it unprofessional to put up with him. They noted that the new owner of “Vedomosti”, the founder of the “FederalPress” Ivan Eremin, “said many of the right words about adherence to the standards” of the newspaper. “But it was his casting vote led to the appointment of editor-in-chief of the person who proved the inconsistency of these standards”, — said the departed the magazine’s staff.

Earlier on 15 June, the Board of Directors of the publisher “Sheets” joint — stock company “Business news media” — Shmarova appointed editor-in-chief of the newspaper. In March, Shmarov said he was not familiar with the code of journalists.
