One Chinese city, Baoding in Hebei province, imposed martial law due to the outbreak of coronavirus infection in neighboring Beijing. This is stated on the website of the city government.
The operational headquarters for the fight against COVID-19 notes that in the city as soon as possible start “the mechanism of war” to prevent the spread of infection.
Local authorities emphasize that because of the proximity of Beijing to Baoding, you should be especially vigilant. Population urged to monitor their health and use protective equipment. “If you have a fever, if you feel tired (…) and other symptoms, should go to the doctor,” reads a government statement.
The city is located 140 kilometers from Beijing. In Baoding is home to more than 11 million people.
