Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Muhammedally Abylgaziev resigned. Reports about it “Sputnik Kyrgyzstan” with reference to the press service of the government.

The reason was political accusations against members of the government in a criminal case related to renewal and re-issuance of permits to use radio resources.

He emphasized that is irrelevant to the case and explained why he decided to resign as Prime Minister: “In today’s difficult conditions when the country confronts the threat of coronavirus infection and struggling with its consequences for the economy, the government must work steadily and enjoy the full confidence of the citizens, and the uncertainty interferes with normal work of the government.”

In may the Deputy Zhanar Akayev told Parliament that the government has sold two radio at a lower cost. In his opinion, a deal could not be done without the knowledge of the Prime Minister. The MP has estimated the damage at 5 billion soms (about 4.6 billion). Soon Abylgaziev responded to the accusations and took a short break to avoid accusations of putting pressure on the investigation.

The Prosecutor General’s office of Kyrgyzstan are investigating. In the case of corruption in the State Agency arrested five people, including officials of the State Committee of national security.
