Many Russians after the complete disappearance of clinical symptoms COVID-19 complain of surviving the chills regardless of the weather. About this in an interview with “Komsomolskaya Pravda” was told by the endocrinologist, candidate of medical Sciences, senior researcher, faculty of fundamental medicine of Moscow state University Zuhra Pavlova.
According to her, such a complication of patients often mistaken for recurrent disease and start taking medication. “However, since tests show a negative result, the absence of coronavirus in the body, the scientists came to the conclusion that we are talking about abuse in the Central nervous system (CNS), which suffers thermoregulation center,” explained Pavlov. However, due to lack of information about SARS-CoV-2 difficult to say that it is a violation of a temporary or permanent.
The doctor added that the virus is able to infect not only epithelial cells (mucosa) of the respiratory system, the gastrointestinal tract, but tissue cells of the CNS. Damage can be caused by a direct penetration of the virus and its toxins.
Currently, recommendations to correct such condition has not been developed. “From a physiological point of view, people feel chills, when there is spasm of blood vessels and partially blood circulation. Accordingly, to keep warm without harm to health, you can drink warm tea, and even better — warm water with seasonal berries, for example blackcurrants, raspberries,” — said Pavlov.
She urged Russians not to abuse alcohol because it will aggravate the condition of intoxication that develops due to the coronavirus, and slow recovery. The doctor also dissuaded citizens from hardening. “This change [temperature] stimulates further synthesis of the hormone cortisol, which can weaken the adrenal glands, immune system, and people at risk easy to catch any other infection,” concluded the expert.
