American Paul Whelan, convicted of espionage against Russia cannot be considered political hostage. To speak of him in such terms refused the Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, reports TASS on Monday, June 15.

“He was charged, which were proved in court and accepted by the court,” reminded Sands.
