In response to the opposition of the United States the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2” should impose duties on U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG). This was stated by the head of the Bundestag Committee on Economics and energy, Klaus Ernst, reports TASS.
He stressed that the government should consider possible steps in case Washington wants to tighten its own sanctions and damage German companies.
Among other measures, the Ernst called the call of the American Ambassador and sanctions against US senators, as the authors of the bill on sanctions.
According to him, the government should stop “throwing cotton balls” and start to defend themselves from attacks, because we are talking about “illegal interference in the legal system of Europe.” The head of the Committee added that the majority of deputies of the Bundestag to support the completion of the construction of the “Nord stream-2”.
Earlier, the Deputy Timon Gremmels pointed out that the ban on the maintenance of the pipeline, which I think in the US, says Russia’s ability to finish its own.
