In the district of Ladakh on the disputed border between India and China, there have been armed clashes, which killed two soldiers and the commander of the Indian army. On Tuesday, June 16, reports Aljazeera.
The incident occurred on Monday evening in the valley Galvan. China accused India of crossing the boundary line, therefore it was decided to open fire.
According to the representative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of China Zhao Lijiang, Indian troops twice crossed the border on 15 June, thus prompting the Chinese military to retaliate.
Currently representatives of the military structures of both sides went to the scene and are going to negotiate a settlement of the conflict.
On 9 June it became known that India and China began to withdraw troops from East of Ladakh. From the beginning of may this disputed territory were numerous armed clashes.
Now the two most populated countries — China and India — parts of a conventional line, dubbed “line MacMahon” (on behalf of the foreign Secretary of British India, who suggested the border in 1914). India and the government of the Dalai Lama (the actual head of state of Tibet) recognized the existing border, and China is not, as was reported in an official diplomatic note in 1959.
After that, several attempts to solve the two Sino-Indian agreements of 1993 and 1996 were unsuccessful. There are two controversial plot border areas in the North-Eastern part of Kashmir and in the North of the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
