Central design Bureau “Lazurit” has completed the design of a multifunctional research vessel (NIS) to conduct marine research in the framework of the national project “Science.” This was reported on the website of the Ministry of education and science.
As explained in Department, in the work on the project was attended by leading specialists in the field of Oceanography, Hydrobiology, marine Geology and hydroacoustics. The project has already received a positive conclusion of the Russian Maritime register of shipping and other regulatory authorities in the future on its basis will be created two vessels.
According to the authors of the project, the research vessels will be able to conduct complex hydrological work, including using remotely operated underwater vehicle. Also they can be used for various hydrometeorological measurements and proximate analysis of the chemical properties of water. In addition, both NIS will be equipped with a helipad.
The construction of two modern research vessels, which will help Russia to expand its presence in key regions of the World ocean, provided by the national project “Science.” According to him, until 2024 in the country should be organized about 250 scientific marine expeditions. In 2019 Russian scientists have organised 37 such expeditions in the North Atlantic and Arctic seas, the Japanese, Okhotsk, South China, the Black and Azov seas.
