Specialists of the Regional public center of Internet technologies (ROCIT) found out and denied the reports about mass buying SIM cards to cheat the outcome of online voting on amendments to the Constitution. This was reported on the website of the organization.
As explained by a leading analyst ROCIT URVAN Parfentiev, cheating is unlikely, and it’s not even that all SIM-cards in Russia is personalized. “The authorization in this case is akin to the presentation of a passport on the offline polling station – in both cases the action is intended to confirm that the vote involved real people, and that he voted only once,” he said.
In fact, the expert added, the citizen votes on a SIM-card and passport data of the voter register. “Accordingly, no matter how many accounts neither was created in any case, the vote will be counted only once,” — said Parfentiev.
Director rotsit Sergey Grebennikov, in turn, urged users to be as vigilant and critical of distributed in the Internet information on electronic voting.
