Former figure skater Evgeny Plushenko said that he was forced to spend “crazy money” to maintain a private Academy. His words leads “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
The double Olympic champion admitted that the Academy does not bring any income. 37-year-old Plushenko said that investing in the project own money. “The Academy is working at a loss. 12 million rubles per year. However, I can afford it. The main thing — to educate athletes,” he said.
June 14, Plushenko joined the coaching staff of Russian national team on figure skating. The main job of the specialist is the Center of sports preparation of national teams of Russia (Federal TSSP).
In may it became known that the Russian skater Alexander Trusov left the band Eteri Tutberidze for the Academy Plushenko. The event caused a resonance among the experts and the media that the former athlete was charged that he lured the skater a more favorable financial terms. Later, Plushenko denied the allegations.
