The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had avoided arrest, which threatened him in the case of the illegal appointment of Deputy head of the foreign intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Semochko. About it reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
The Prosecutor changed the petition for the preventive measure instead of detention, she demanded a personal obligation. At trial, the Prosecutor stated that Poroshenko needs to attend the meetings of the Verkhovna Rada. In addition, he pledged not to abscond. The Prosecutor asked to apply to the policy measure in the form of personal commitments to 10 July 2020, to compel Poroshenko to be on-call investigator or the court, not to absent himself from the place of residence without permission and to hand over the passport, UNIAN reports.
In the end, the hearing on the remand was postponed to 1 July.
Earlier, Poroshenko, speaking at a rally of supporters in front of the court, said that he filed another case on the incitement to religious hatred when creating the Orthodox Church in Ukraine (PCU).
