Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov called nonsense message about the illegal distribution of SIM cards to create false accounts and cheating the outcome of electronic voting on amendments to the Constitution of Russia. About it reports “Interfax”.

On 17 June, the specialists of the Regional public center of Internet technologies (ROCIT) has denied reports about mass buying SIM cards to cheat the voting results. Senior analyst ROCIT URVAN Parfentiev said that cheating is unlikely and it’s not even that all SIM-cards in Russia is personalized. He explained that voting is on the passport.

The vote will take place at the polling stations on 1 July and within six days prior to that date on the grounds outdoors. This measure is intended to reduce the burden to the polls in a pandemic. Additional prevention measures — the distribution of medical masks and gloves, social distance.

Originally the vote was scheduled for 22 April, but due to the spread of the novel coronavirus President Vladimir Putin decided to postpone it. To amend the basic law, the Russian leader suggested in mid-January.
