President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the authorities managed to disrupt the organization of the Maidan in the country. On Thursday, 19 June, BelTA informs.
According to Lukashenko, Belarus is concentrated “focus of all political interests” — both from the West and from the East. The country has intensified certain forces that are trying to destabilize the situation.
“We saw it long ago. But we still managed to do some steps ahead of the curve and disrupt the large-scale plan to destabilize Russia (this is no joke and not bullying) and to lead the country to a certain independence. This was the goal. Mask off certain not only dolls that we had here, but the puppeteers who sit outside of Belarus”, — Lukashenka said.
Yesterday, June 18, the state control Committee (SCC) of Belarus said that the activities of the former head of Belgazprombank Victor Babariko who was going to participate in the presidential elections, were controlled by the “puppeteers” of “Gazprom”. Babariko arrested and accused of organizing a criminal scheme. The SCC claimed that the account “Belgazprombank” in Latvian ABLV illegally brought 430 million dollars.
Earlier in Belarus was arrested blogger Sergei tikhanovski, also planned to run for President. He is accused of violence against police and obstructing elections.
Presidential elections in Belarus on 9 August. Throughout the country held mass rallies to collect signatures for opposition candidates. Lukashenko said that the government rushes radical opposition to the money of Russian oligarchs, and promised not to allow Maidan.
