Russia and Belarus have agreed on mutual recognition of visas

Russia will let foreigners into the country for Belarusian visas, and Belarus — by Russian. The agreement on mutual recognition of visas was signed during the visit of Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in Minsk on Friday, June 19. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the document, now citizens of foreign countries will be able to visit Russia on Belarusian visa and stay in its territory until the expiration of the entry document. Similar rules will operate in relation to the Belarusian side.

It is clarified that the work on the text of the agreement was completed in November 2018, and Russia were able in a short time to carry out the steps needed for signing.

Earlier at a meeting with Lavrov, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko praised Belarus-Russia relations. He expressed confidence that relations between Minsk and Moscow will be able to solve the existing problems as they are not catastrophic.
