Arrested in the case of Belgazprombank, the main rival of Alexander Lukashenko in the forthcoming August 9 presidential election Victor Babariko gathered more than 434 thousand signatures for nomination of his candidacy for the presidency. About it reports a press-service of the election headquarters of the Belarusian politician.
“This is an absolute record for the alternative nominees in the history of independent Belarus. Today, no matter what, we will continue to submit signatures to election commissions”, — is spoken in the message.
The home team babaryka added that some of the signatures cannot be presented due to yesterday’s arrest of Viktor Babariko and his son Edward.
Just of candidacy at the presidential elections in Belarus it is necessary to collect more than 100 thousand signatures. The last politician declared about overcoming the low, became the oppositionist, a former member of the house of representatives Anna Konopacka. Besides the incumbent President, Alexander Lukashenko, on obtaining the requisite number of signatures announced and the former head of the high-tech Park Valery Tsepkalo.
The head of the Central election Commission Lidia Yermoshina at the same time said that in support of Lukashenka are collected 364 thousand signatures. In the second place, the initiative group of Babariko — about 150 thousand. Third and fourth places are shared group Valery Tsepkalo and Svetlana Tikhanovski, respectively — slightly more than 43 thousand signatures.
