The White house said the North Korean leader that open to the abolition of UN-imposed restrictive measures against the DPRK and is prepared to think about it. Kim Jong-UN, in turn, told Trump that he was glad the parties to follow the principle of “action for action”, according to which after the denuclearization of North Korea, the U.S. side will go to all sorts of concessions.
According to Bolton, the US leader also expressed willingness to reduce or halt joint with Republic of Korea military exercises.
Bolton resigned in the fall of 2019, after being on a post of the adviser to trump’s only a year and a half. The President, commenting on the decision, stated that the reason for the dismissal was disagreement in the positions. A memoir of Bolton already caused a scandal. Wednesday, June 17, the U.S. Department of justice filed a lawsuit in Bolton. The Department argued that the book of his memoirs contains sensitive information, the disclosure of which would threaten national security.
The U.S. and North Korea are in negotiations on the denuclearization of Korea in 2018. Trump has stated that he is ready to lift sanctions against the Republic, if the agreement will take place. However, during negotiations in early October 2019 Pyongyang announced their failure. Washington denied this statement. In early December, the representative of the DPRK to the UN Kim song said that the country does not need the continuation of negotiations with the United States on the issues of denuclearization. According to the diplomat, it is no longer included in the agenda of the negotiations with the American side.
