Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the reaction of the West, in particular Poland, the Baltic States and the United States, an article by Vladimir Putin about the Second world war. He told about it on air of the program “the Big game” on the First channel, reports TASS.
According to him, the allegations by these States in an attempt to rewrite history in this article was predictable, but incomprehensible. “But there is a silver lining. The presence of the reaction suggests that the article I read that I read it, and there is a faint hope that maybe one reading will allow you to ask the question,” — said the representative of the Kremlin.
He added that the Russian leader was based on archival documents, including new ones that were opened only during his work on the material. “So we’re not talking here about some kind of interpretation, what is meant here is the presentation of irrefutable and documented historical facts,” concluded Sands.
Putin’s article “the Real lessons of the 75th anniversary of the Second world war” for the American magazine The National Interest was published on 18 June. In it the Russian leader also appealed to the permanent members of the UN Security Council — USA, UK, China and France and expressed hope for the imminent holding of the summit of leaders of the five countries. The President added that the world powers can and must trust each other to respond to current challenges: a pandemic of the mers situation in the world economy and protect the environment.
After the publication of the Director of the Department of homeland security office of the Prime Minister of Poland Stanislaw Garin said that Putin has attempted to present a false picture of the Second world war.
