Zelensky threatened Iran to court for unfulfilled promises on the downed plane

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has threatened Iran with the international courts in case of default of its obligations under the downed plane UIA. About Zelensky said in an interview with canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.

The head of state said he expects to execution by the Iranian authorities of the promises they made after the incident. So, the President hopes not only to return the black boxes, but also on adequate compensation. Zelensky also wish that Iran has officially apologized.

“Otherwise we will have no other choice and they know our position, but to appeal to international courts”, — he stressed.

Earlier, Iran’s government has refused to send the black boxes to the Ukrainian Boeing 737 was shot down in January in Tehran to Ukraine. The reason for this step is called the delay of Kiev with the response to Tehran about the fate of the flight recorders. The black boxes will likely be sent to France.

Boeing 737-800 of the company “Ukraine International airlines” (UIA) crashed on take off from Tehran airport on the morning of 8 January. Killed 176 people, including citizens of Iran, Ukraine, Canada, the UK, Germany, Sweden and Afghanistan as well as nine crew members. Iran has admitted it mistakenly shot down the plane.
