Ukraine refused to restore railway communication with Russia. This was stated by Deputy foreign Minister Vasily Bondar in an interview with “UKRINFORM”.
According to him, at the moment it is unsafe from an epidemiological point of view, however, the government is monitoring the situation. Cooper explained that there was no “just to shut out a ditch, build a wall and forget about Russia”, as many Ukrainians go back to their relatives.
He also said that the visa regime with Russia to enter is not planned, however, the guards gather at the border crossing biometric data that can be considered a “biometric visa”.
29 may, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that the country is beginning to open the border crossings, including for foreigners. Condition for entry, he outlined the compliance with the 14-day quarantine. According to him, it would restore movement across the border, and simultaneously to control entry into the country.
Ukraine closed the border and cancelled a large part of passenger traffic in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection on March 28.
