Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania agreed to upgrade their military fleets. It is reported ERR.

Countries want to join forces to form larger order, which will cost them cheaper budgets. Also, according to the head of the Navy of Estonia jüri of SASCO, the command will consider the changing composition of the fleet based on current needs.

“We want to be able to carry out surface control, to be able to hit and surface targets, ships or other objects. It is also necessary to provide airspace control. And, of course, require systems of control, so in that case, if we fail to hit the target, at least we know where she is,” he said.

Latvia called the weak link of the defense of the Baltic States. The former commander of forces of defence of Estonia and current member of the ants Laaneots said that Latvia spends a lot of money on a small army. Laaneots believes that six thousand people who make up the Latvian army, supported by volunteer forces, are not able to solve problems that “could put our neighbour to the East”.
