Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov has responded to the remark of the historian, who claimed that the article by Vladimir Putin about the Second world war was used unconfirmed quote attributed to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. About it reports TASS.

“Wrong, a comment from historians. Everything that is used in this article is not conveying someone else’s words, and direct cite documents from the archives,” — said the representative of the Kremlin.

Peskov said that in this lies the value of the article, because the material is not a reasoning or an attempt to evaluate events, and the desire to transmit information from archives and primary sources. For this reason, he said, “what a different interpretation is absolutely impossible”.

Press Secretary of the head of state also said that when writing the article, Putin worked with the materials of the state archive, historians, but most of the work the President has done himself. “Not that he was sitting in the archives, but he was keenly cognizant of all archival documents, which he passed”, — said Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier, on June 23 Peskov called the error differences in the number of losses during the Rzhev battles in multilingual versions of Putin’s article. He explained that in the journal The National Interest article was sent a few days before the end of the work with archival documents, while working in the archives to clarify the number of dead was conducted before the last hour.

An article by Vladimir Putin “the Real lessons of the 75th anniversary of the Second world war” for the American magazine The National Interest was published on 18 June. In it the Russian leader also appealed to the permanent members of the UN Security Council — USA, UK, China and France and expressed hope for the imminent holding of the summit of leaders of the five countries. Putin stressed that the world powers can and must trust each other to respond to current challenges: a pandemic of the mers situation in the world economy and protect the environment.
