The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci accused of war crimes and against humanity, including a hundred murders and numerous tortures, abductions and persecution. On Wednesday, June 24, said at the Tribunal in the Hague for investigation of war crimes in Kosovo, reports Deutsche Welle.
Besides him, the charges were brought against nine former militants. It is clarified that for all time the victims were hundreds of citizens, including political opponents of the head of the Kosovo.
The special court was established in the Hague in 2016, for the prosecution of former KLA members for alleged war crimes during the struggle for independence of Kosovo from Serbia. He considers crimes against Serbs, Roma and Albanians committed in the period from 1998 to 2000.
Hashim Thaci is the founder of the Kosovo Liberation army (KLA), which fought for independence from Serbia. At the beginning of 2016 became the President of the Republic. In 1998-1999 as a result of military actions on the territory of the former Yugoslavia killed more than 10 thousand people, almost two thousand of which are now missing. Clarifies that after a 78-day armed conflict, the fighting stopped after several aircraft of the NATO attacks in Serbia.
