The Deputy head of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko said that the killers of the journalist Pavel Sheremet could be guided by Patriotic motives. He told about it in interview “RBC-Ukraine”.
“My personal opinion — this crime was committed from Patriotic motives. People often make the idea: it is the enemy, it should be eliminated, because he is the enemy,” — he explained his position.
Gerashchenko also said that the suspects considered only performers, which is inspired by the crime some “curators”. He drew Parallels with the murder of another journalist, Georgy Gongadze, which led protests against who was then President Leonid Kuchma.
“This led to the stock “Ukraine without Kuchma” and change the geopolitical vector of the country. Same thing here: Sheremet kill, not just kill in the entrance, and specially, for all to see, there is a resonance, and so forth,” — said Gerashchenko.
Sharamet killed in 2016 in Kyiv in a car explosion. Three years later, the murder accused the veterans of the fighting in the Donbass and volunteers. According to investigators, they wanted to destabilize the situation in Ukraine. None of the suspects in committing a crime does not admit guilt.
