A former official of the Ministry of culture was found guilty of negligence in the case Serebrennikov

Sofia Apfelbaum, who served as Director of the Department of state support of art and folk creativity Ministry of culture of Russia and held the accused in the case, “the Seventh Studio”, was found guilty of negligence. It is reported by Telegram-the RT channel on Friday, June 26.

Previously, the former official was accused of complicity in the fraud scheme, together with the Director Kirill Serebrennikov. The court held that Apfelbaum was not aware of criminal acts of artistic Director of “Gogol-center”.

Serebrennikov was found guilty in the criminal case on the embezzlement of funds allocated from the state budget for the theater project “Platform”. He was accused of stealing 129 million rubles. The Director threatens six years of imprisonment. The sentence was handed down in petty-bourgeois court of Moscow.

Searches and arrests in the case, “the Seventh Studio” began in may of 2017.
