The Russian monopolist “Gazprom” wanted to increase gas supplies to China on issues of gas pipeline “Power of Siberia” for 6 billion cubic meters to 44 billion cubic meters. This follows from the statements of the Chairman of the Board of the company Alexey Miller in an interview published on the website of the company.
According to him, the gas monopoly is also discussing with Chinese counterparts the organization of gas supplies from the Russian Far East and construction of the Western route of deliveries of gas pipeline “Power of Siberia-2”.
According to Miller, in the foreseeable future gas exports to China will exceed 130 billion cubic meters per year. Growth of supply in this area will outstrip dynamics of imports of liquefied natural gas and the supply of Central Asian gas to China, the head of the company.
Earlier “Tape.ru” has published a major investigation of the situation around the project “Power of Siberia”. According to him, the pipeline has faced serious challenges due to large-scale errors and irregularities in the development of the Chayanda field. The company may lose 1.5 trillion rubles and disrupt multibillion-dollar contract. According to “Tape.ru”, “Power of Siberia-2” is built for the salvation of the “Power of Siberia”.
