The Ministry of healthcare in 2019 retool 175 medical institutions providing care to patients with cancer. On Friday, June 26, said the head of the Ministry Mikhail Murashko, reports TASS.
According to him, during the year these hospitals receive more than 4.4 thousand units of medical equipment. In addition, in 58 regions of Russia were organized 141 center for outpatient cancer care.
Also, the Minister said, the country has seen growth in the availability of chemotherapy. “Just one year of the multiplicity of courses of chemotherapy per patient was increased 4.1-fold from 1.2 courses in January 2019 to 4.9 courses in December 2019,” said Murashko.
The fight against cancer is one of the priorities of the national project “Health”. In six years it is planned to reduce the death rate from cancer to 185 cases per 100 thousand population. To achieve this goal it is planned to send nearly a trillion rubles. The project also aimed at providing Russians with affordable health care and improving its quality, the changing nature of relations between doctors and patients, increasing to 70 percent coverage of primary prevention, introduction of modern clinical recommendations, increase the average life expectancy of Russians at the age of 78 and more.
